When faced with tough competition many of us tend to go through the soft corner and quite a few of us try to avoid the said competition altogether. But former Indian Cricket Team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said he prefer to face it rather than run from it. He said, “all the fast bowlers are quite difficult, with the limited technique I had. Still, if I had to pick one, I would pick Akhtar.” He is not afraid to face him despite his limited techniques. Dhoni has come to this conclusion despite playing against Akhtar just 10 times in international cricket.  Yes, he was talking about the Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar who was nicknamed as ‘Rawalpindi Express’ for his fast paced bowling and hails from Rawalpindi.

When Dhoni was asked why he picked Akhtar compared to Brett Lee, Dale Steyn, Stuart Broad, Lasith Malinga, Glenn McGrath, Morne Morkel and James Anderson, he replied, “very simple reason: he was quick, he was fast, he could bowl a yorker, he could bowl a bouncer but you never expected a beamer.”
“He was a bit unpredictable (but) he was fun to play against,” Dhoni said.

Be it batting or wicket keeping Mahi excels it but by naming ‘Rawalpindi Express’ as the toughest bowler he showed that he can face any competition and isn’t insecure of his cricket career or success which he earned through his determination and hard work.

Let this big reveal be an honour and tribute to both Mahi and Akhtar for their careers and achievements. Especially for Mahi because revealing competition can never be easy for the fear that it can be used against them.

Dhoni is a true team leader who will keep on inspiring the youth and upcoming generation to face the difficulties and to overcome them through determination and hardwork.
