Dhoni cools Shami Over ‘Baap Kaun Hai’ Taunt
India losing the finals from Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 by 180 runs was indeed a blow to all Indians. This defeat came as somewhat shock to everyone as India won the first match of series by defeating Pakistan. A match between these two teams is watched by almost everyone even if he/she is not a cricket fan in India and even in Pakistan.
The rivalry between the two teams is as legendary as it is between the countries. This Sunday after the match something noticeably happened yet again. Taunting players after the defeat are not so uncommon but one of the Pakistani fan shouted, “Akad toot gai hai teri Kholi saari haa, akad toot gai hai,” at the Indian captain, who did not react. One can certainly appreciate Virat Kohli for not losing his calm and composure and ignoring taunts.
However, pacer Mohammed Shami lost his cool when the fan said “Baap kaun hai,” multiple times as he walked by. These kinds of taunts and remarks are often made under the rush of adrenaline and not to be taken seriously.
Hot headed Shami stopped in his tracks, turned back and moved towards the fan to confront him for his unsportsmanlike conduct. However, former Indian captain MS Dhoni stepped in to diffuse the situation and calm Shami down. Both the Indian Cricket Team captains showed the spirit of sports and were successful in preventing a chaos from breaking out in the stadium. In worst case scenario, it could have turned into an ugly physical fight rather a verbal one.
Players are trained to work against all odds and not to respond to derogatory remarks and taunts that are hurled at them from time to time due to various reasons. Players like Shami needs to work in controlling such reactions to make them better sportsmen and rise above these remarks and taunts.http://www.besporty.co.in/cricket/india/dhoni-cools-shami-baap-kaun-hai-taunt-pakistani-fanhttp://www.besporty.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/dhoni3.jpghttp://www.besporty.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/dhoni3-150x150.jpgIndiaindia,Mohammed Shami,MS dhoni,Pakistan, virat kohliIndia losing the finals from Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 by 180 runs was indeed a blow to all Indians.
