Vijender Singh to Meet Chinese Star Zulpikar Maimaitiali
Indian boxing star Vijender Singh successfully defended his WBO Asia Pacific title and will be in contention for second belt when he fights with China’s WBO Oriental Super Middleweight champion Zulpikar Maimaitiali. Three months before, Zulpikar Maimaitiali backed out the fight and now is back again to challenge World Boxing Organisation Asia Pacific Super middleweight champion Vijender Singh.
Double title Fights, where contenders would put their respective titles as stake would be interesting to watch as the battle winner would be the King of Asia.
Vijender, who knocked out Tanzania’s Francis Cheka in his title defence in December last year, is undefeated in the circuit so far and is currently training in Manchester under the tutelage of his British trainer Lee Beard. April 1 clash will be his third fight in the country and two of them have been held in Delhi.
Maimatali, who has challenged Vijender Singh, has made professional debut in 2015. He has won seven fights and played eight fights in the arena.
Edmund Chu, MD, SECA Worldwide said on bout between the two, “Zulpikar is training and preparing to fight Vijender Singh in the biggest showdown of the year. Due to certain unavoidable circumstances, the bout had to be postponed, but we have been in talks with IOS Boxing Promotions for over a month now to work out the modalities and are hopeful for the bout to take place soon.
Zuli is ready to enter the ring in India and put on a performance against Indian star Vijender Singh in front of his home crowd to become Asian King of Boxing, ” he said.
“The fight night will also see other top boxers making their pro boxing debut in Mumbai,” sources said.http://www.besporty.co.in/boxing/vijender-singh-meet-chinese-star-zulpikar-maimaitialihttp://s3.amazonaws.com/besporty.wp-uploads/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/20025902/dc-Cover-k5nnkgc36es8ut06putvlj1u30-20170619174550.Medi_.jpeghttp://s3.amazonaws.com/besporty.wp-uploads/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/20025902/dc-Cover-k5nnkgc36es8ut06putvlj1u30-20170619174550.Medi_.jpegBoxingDelhi,Edmund Chu,Francis Cheka,Lee Beard,Manchester,Mumbai,SECA Worldwide, vijender singh,Zulpikar MaimaitialiIndian boxing star Vijender Singh successfully defended his WBO Asia Pacific title and will be in contention for second belt when he fights with China’s WBO Oriental Super Middleweight champion Zulpikar Maimaitiali.
