Kidambi Srikanth poses with trophy after winning the Denmark Open Suoer Series Badminton Championship
Kidambi Srikanth was at his fluent best as he claimed top honours in the Denmark Open Super Series Premier in Odense on Sunday. The Indian dished out a flawless performance in his 21-10, 21-5 win against Korean veteran Lee Hyun Il in what turned out to be a one-sided final.
Earlier this year, the Hyderabadi had won the Indonesia Super Series Premier and the Australia Open Super Series. Srikanth took home a prize money of Rs 36.61 lakh for his effort in Odense.

With this win, Srikanth clinched his third Super Series title in 2017. He is only the sixth player in badminton history to reach four men’s singles Super Series finals. He is also the second Indian after Saina Nehwal to win three Super Series titles in a year.
“Definitely, it was a good game. But I think, he must have been tired after yesterday’s long match. And I am really happy the way I played today and thanks to everyone for supporting me throughout the week. I am looking forward to coming next year too and defend this title,” said the Indian shuttler after the win.

The Indian made two unforced errors to allow Lee get into doubles figures. But Lee again erred with the length of his return as Srikanth pocketed the first game.
The 24-year old took an 11-1 lead in the second game as Lee Hyun found it difficult to make a comeback against Srikanth. The lanky Indian shuttler finished the game comfortably, in just 25 minutes.
Post mid-game break, Lee produced a steep cross court return, much to the cheer of the sizable crowd who had turned out to watch the finals. The Korean lacked anticipation as Srikanth smashed his way to the title.
